Printing money and stealing taxes

There has been a lot going on in my life lately and most of it being depressing news. Hubs and I are wonderful...it's just everything around us that has been sucking bullets lately - government, politics, news, insurance, hail damage, time constraints, people, people, people...er, did I say people?

Luckily, the weather has been kind to my mood and has kept the heat out and the rain in. Boy do I love the rain! So that has been a wonderful change to a normal Colorado summer heat wave. :)

For a different change of pace, and just because I feel like it, I wanted to share a sweet sign.

Don't you agree? :P

This one is good too and truly what we all need to realize!

In God We Trust!

Most definitely!

Weeks gone by

We've been busy the past few weeks!

Parties...

Big hail storm bought some pretty heavy damage to our camper.
And we wanted to go camping this weekend.
Bummer!

Hail took out the vents...
Killed the air conditioning unit...
And ripped the tarp off the front. But nobody was hurt. Praise God!
Now we're just waiting to hear back from insurance.
And all the past few weekends we spent re-caulking and fixing it up.

But the garden continues to get bigger!

We've even got cucumbers getting close to being picked.
Not sure yet what I'm going to do with all the gourds.
They were more of an experiment...well, it worked.
We're gonna have hundreds of them I think
by the time summer is over.
And squash and zucchini...
I guess I need to start baking. :)

Depressing

I'm not watching the news this morning.
Usually when I get a chance to work from home, I plant myself on the couch, computer in lap, and turn the TV on to the news for background noise as I run through my morning emails and quick-response projects.
But I'm not going to this morning. I am up in the office sitting at my desk instead. There is a TV in this room, but it's not set up from the digital transition, so alas, no temptation to turn it on.
The news lately has just been so depressing! From the random murders to Obama's "Health Plan" to water right fights to Sotomayor's almost guaranteed acceptance... it's just too depressing for this girl to listen to this morning.
Maybe I'll just turn on some Third Day and worship for awhile while I work.
That sounds good.

There is a time for everything...

We've been busy around these parts lately! I haven't had much chance to do anything but think of all the things I want to be doing - such as update the blog, learn html and update the blog even more, move forward with the photography business (I'm kinda at a standstill right now and it really sucks!), weed the garden, work on these beanbag things that Mark asked me to sew for him, bake, bake, bake, weed the yard, work on my antique windows, strip and repaint the dresser and bookshelves, etc etc etc.

But work has been keeping me so busy that I haven't been up to doing anything. Except the garage...
Hopefully by this time next week we'll be done with the insulation and drywall on the ceilings. Hubs has done well with the walls, and once we can get the ceilings done, then we'll be able to tape, mud, and FINALLY paint!! :)

I love love love painted garages.

Why not make the garage another part of the house? I'm thinking Ohio State colors...since it is the "man space." :)

Single For A Day

It wasn't on purpose. Not even in the slightest.

For dinner last night, I made pizza. In order to properly mix the dough, I had to take off my rings or otherwise suffer the humiliation and decimation of having to clean the beautiful things. So I removed them for the short time being and got to work on the dough.

And I forgot to put them back on.

I thought about it twice... once in the shower that evening after dinner and again in the shower this morning. I guess I'm just too used to getting my hair tangled up and caught in my solitaire and when that didn't happen, it sent up warning signals into my brain that something was just off...

(my rings) :)

Unfortunately, I was in such a rush this morning trying to get off to work that I completely forgot to grab them off the kitchen counter. Heck, I forgot a lot of things this morning.

But what a shame to forget something this precious! Kinda like the Dr.Phil episode the other day when the teen pregnant girl forgot her fake baby at home when she went to interview for a job.

Anywho, I was a wreck all day at work. I kept looking down at my fingers and feeling my soul rip out of my body. I felt naked. I felt exposed. I was missing a HUGE part of me.

And also while driving home this afternoon... I drive with one hand up on top of the steering wheel and I kept looking up and not seeing the sparkle in the window. There wasn't the beautiful stone casting the dashing colored lights around the car. There wasn't the security of having my "already taken" sign to flash at the old ugly dude next to me, saying "don't stare at me."

But I got home, found them...

and everything was right in the world.

and the chips tasted good too.

Sequence

At five minutes and six seconds after 4 AM

on the 8th of July this year,

the time and date will be

04:05:06 07/08/09.

This will never happen again!

A Year's Middle Begins

I can't believe it's already July! It's been July for almost a few days now. I'm not ready for the heat. And it's been really hot lately. Thank goodness for the evening shower storms. It's brought in the cooler weather in right about the time I'm ready to strangle someone for the constant sweating (that's me sweating btw). :)

I don't deal well with the heat. It messes with my mental capabilities. So I can't take the responsibility of any crazy ideas, actions, or comments that come from my direction when its over 80 degrees outside.

But since summer is here and I have no choice over the matter, I will try to make the best of it. And one thing to get my mind off the heat of summer is fixing up the house. I found this today while waiting for a project to load. It would be perfect for the backyard garden, or for the front porch, or for the back patio (once we get it poured)... it could go practically anywhere!Home Deck Storage Box - Small

I like it.
