I Spy...

Tonight we had a visitor at the door and I just had to write about it before the memory was lost.

We seem to get so many solicitors in our neighborhood and tonight was no exception. There we were, sitting on the couch for the first time all week, watching CSI and enjoying each other's company, feeling the cool breeze make its way through the house, and we hear this voice behind us. "Hey guys, how's it going?"

We turn to look and there is a stranger standing on our porch with his face practically stuck up against the screen door. He was selling subscriptions to the Post and really wanted us to sign up. We talk for a short while and thanked him for his time, while also trying to get across to him that we just weren't interested at the moment.

Not even 15 minutes later, we get a knock at the door. Another guy, a little more shy than the last, is selling papers as well. He has a bit different approach, although most of the info is the same, so Hubs tells him that his buddy just came by a few minutes prior.

The guy acts a little shocked, tells Hubs a story about how this other guy is stealing his clients, and begs us to sign up to receive the paper from him. Hubs talks a little longer with him, meanwhile catching him in a few additional lies, finally gets the guy to disburse from our porch, and Hubs settles back down on the couch with me to enjoy the rest of the show, hoping that we don't have any more interruptions for the evening.

You can ALWAYS count on more interruptions!

We hear something on the street and Hubs turns around to catch the guy jumping in the back of a van with the first perp in the front seat! They knew each other this whole time!

I don't like it when people lie. It's just so juvenile!

So anywho, we jump in the car to chase after them. Not sure what we would've done if we had found them. Maybe we would have confronted them. Maybe jumped in the van when they weren't looking and then scared them when they tried to reenter after catching the next house. Maybe we would've called the police. We had all sorts of options. :)

Just kidding on all that. No really. Kidding.
I just kinda thought it was fun to drive around the neighborhood at night for no purpose. ;)

Well, we didn't find them. But we did have a little "spy" enjoyment for the evening. Tee hee.

It was dark!

Now... it's off to bed.

Coming soon - Our 1st Anniv that most everyone forgot.

This whole keeping up with the blogger thing is a bit difficult when life screams by at an unworldly pace. Work definitely has attributed to the lack of free time. We've been so busy that even though I've been trying to take some time off (I have to use it or lose it by the end of the month), I still get called constantly for new projects or changes to projects once thought completed. Like last Wednesday, I worked in the morning because there were a few last minute pieces to work on to get finished before going to the printer, but I was supposed to be off work at 11:15 am. Instead, I was called that morning to put some new pages into these handbooks (the ones I was trying to package up to send to the printer) and that it was NON-NEGOTIABLE and that we HAD to get these new pages into these handbooks. Never mind that there were 14 handbooks, each having anywhere from 80-190 pages in them, and adding new pages in the middle of the book drastically affected the page count and the table of contents. Needless to say, my half-day turned into a full 13 hour day. Ugh. I'm still trying to catch up from that!

But last weekend, Hubs and I were able to work a little on the camper. We settled with the insurance (actually they told us how it was going to be), so we needed to get the roof items fixed before we got even more rain and it flooded our camper, causing even more issues. So we rushed out to several RV supply stores and grabbed some covers we thought would work. Wrong! Had to go back a few times before finally getting all the pieces we needed:

Vent covers

Patch for the Airconditioner

Cover for the fridge unit
Light covers
Then had to tear out and re caulk the seal on the top and rear of the roof.
So that turned into a full day's work too. But that's alright. We were able to fix all the covers and even took a few minutes at one RV place to dream about a future camper. :) Pics coming soon...
