It's just one of those days...

This has been a hard day to take in. It has just been one of those weeks and no matter how hard I try, I cannot get on top of things. Traffic, work, people, situations...they just keep piling up and I am so ready to just sit down and cry.

The drive in me will not allow myself to do so though. It's a good thing - the drive that comes from the Lord. Only He can give me strength. Only He can make the day better. Only He can improve my attitude so that when the day continues on the path it is, I will still be able to stand tall beside Him and make it through.

I must continue in my work, the direction I have laid out for myself (that which the Lord has provided me). Sometime soon, it has to get better. It will get better. Praise be to Him!

It's Brrrrrrr Cold!

Oh my my my my my... started the fireplace this morning because my three layers of clothing was just not enough to keep me warm. The weather this week has announced the arrival of fall. Actually, it skipped over fall and announced winter is fast approaching! My poor flowers and garden may not survive before it gets back up into a warmer 60 degree temperature. Right now I think it's 40 maybe. Last night got down close to freezing. Hopefully though the ground stays warm enough to keep my plants alive.

I brought in all the "loose" plants last night - those that are currently planted in moveable pots - a couple tomatoes, flowers I started from seed and are finally blooming, a couple pepper plants we started from seed, and my tiny little basil plant. That poor thing needs a bigger pot and maybe it'll produce enough to make a full Italian Basil Pasta Salad. Last time I made that (for Hub's 30th Birthday Bash) I had to get some from mom... her basil plant it doing so well it's turning into a bush!

I love this crazy weather though. I love getting all wrapped up in blankets and sweaters and curling up at night in sweats. I love love love it!

Here's to the Fall Season! :)

Yikes!

Big payment going out towards the students loans tomorrow.

My cash flow will be hurting for awhile, but hubs and I really want to be diligent and get all our debts paid off right away.

According to our schedule, we should have the house paid off in 7 years... but of course, anything can happen in that amount of time. Heck, we may not even be in this house anymore. We may not even be in this state anymore.

Ha, here's hopin. :)
Rain

I love the rain. I love the smell of the rain. I love the peacefulness it sheds on the ground. I love the raindrops hitting against the windows and the tiny puddles forming on the ground.

If it wasn't for the fact of getting wet and then feeling miserable being wet, then I could dance in the rain.

I love that movie.

I do love being kissed in the rain though. It is one of the most romantic ways to be kissed by your loved one. Being held close, the rain dropping to the ground all around you, separating you and your love from the world outside of those little drops.

These are the days I wish I could just curl up on the couch and read the day away. Oh, what a wonderful world it would be.

But I guess since work takes precedence at the moment, I will settle with grabbing my slippers and enjoying their warm embrace.

Yes, that is much better!

Life is good once again. :)

Interests...

I have WAY too many interests. I can't help it. There are so many great and awesome and amazing things out there to do and I want to do all of them! I just wish there were time and the endless supply of funds that would be required to do such a thing. :)

Sigh...

The party went absolutely fabulous yesterday!

(notice the annoying fly...he wanted to say his friends had a great time too)

I didn't get any pictures from the actual party's events, but some other family did have a camera out and about so I'm hoping to tag some from thm soon. :)

We had a TON of food! Which also meant a ton of dishes. Ha.

I bought way too much! I was starting to drive myself nuts with making sure there was enough and it turned out to be WAY more than I even needed. But it all was a hit and quite tasty if I say so myself and I think the leftovers will hold us through the week and I even was able to freeze a bunch of appetizers for a later date.

But we were thinking about it last night after everyone left, and if everyone had actually shown up (I only had two families that told me they couldn't make it and the rest of those who didn't show - well, shame on them!), then I would've had to make a lot more than we did. I still had enough supplies, just didn't use them all, so now my fridge is full of items to use this next weekend when B&C come to visit. I just gotta think of some sweet uses for meatballs... I have WAY too much of those left over. I guess a few casseroles are in order for the freezer. Make-ahead-meals... gotta love them!

Now I can start catching up on sleep. Those many sleepless nights preparing and finishing projects around the house and prepping food, etc etc... I can't do that much longer. Guess that's a sign of me getting old. But I still have a few years until I catch up to Hubs. :)

Beanbags

I'm pooped! We've ran errands, made decisions, worked on projects, and cooked - - and while that sentence makes it sound like any other day...it's been a tiresome one today.

We finally picked up some primer to finish the garage. Gotta get that done this week! Primer and paint! And everything put away so that it looks presentable next Sunday. I guess it's a garage so how "presentable" can a garage be, but I want it to look at least finished. Like Hubs said last night - no more projects until we finish what we've started. :)

The cabinet finally is paint free. Or, it was paint free...of the old paint that is. :) I was able to finish sanding it and then put a coat of primer. It's getting there. A little more work has got to be done on it - mainly with the doors and top, but it's getting there. Can't wait to have it back in the house where it belongs and not have to cover it up anymore because of its past ugliness!

Beanbags - - Hubs finished painting his cornhole game so it was up to me to check that project off the list by finishing the beanbags. I cut them out this morning after the neighbor's dog woke me up and, since Hubs was soundly sleeping past all the noise, I figured a little cutting and sewing wouldn't affect him in the least little bit.

I got to measuring and cutting out the pieces from old jeans and had just enough of one jean color. Earlier this summer I had made a pair of old jeans into cutoffs...they were too long to wear as jeans anyway. I always had to fold them up at the bottom and inevitably I would end up walking on them, so they took the sacrifice and snip snip they went. Thus I had just enough of the jean leg to use for these beanbags. So now we can play three teams at a time!

I got all the pieces cut out and got ready to sew and realized that I didn't have enough thread to get through even a set of bags. Thus, I picked up some more thread when we were out and about running errands today.

See -
three colors = three teams! :)
I'm so good! :P

Now I need a nap. But I need to make some cards, clean the loft, and work on some paperwork. I would also paint the cabinet, but it's too windy outside and I don't want to take the chance of something blowing into the fresh paint, and I definitely don't want to paint with the garage door closed. Bummer. I guess that can wait for tomorrow.

Maybe I can get Hubs to make dinner for me tonight. Op, I think I hear him messing around in the kitchen. Maybe I don't need to make the ask at all! Sweet!
